We got El Parrillon which was a TON of food and easily fed our family. We did get extra Gallo Pinto (rice and beans) but that's just because we love it!

What a great addition to Richland Center's dining choices. Not being familiar with Nicaraguan cuisine, my mother and I asked for suggestions. The waiter explained some of the dishes and made suggestions based on our preferred protein and spice level. I chose the shrimp in jalapeno cream sauce (which had a very mild heat level) and my mother had a shredded beef dish. Both of us enjoyed our entrees! Great food and large portions. I plan to go back when I am in town.

The service was excellent. Didn't know much on the menu so, was suggested by staff. Ordered what was suggested and it was awesome. This place was enough for four people and there were only two of us. The leftovers definitely went home with us. The atmosphere was so casual, pleasant and down to earth.

My Nicaraguan Feast:
Let me tell you, my recent visit to La Fritanga was an explosion of taste and texture. I dove headfirst into their Nacatamal, a savory corn tamale bursting with tender pork, potatoes, and veggies. Each bite was a delightful mix of soft masa, juicy meat, and pops of flavor from the other ingredients. It was like a warm hug on a plate, perfect for a cozy winter day.
Next up, I savored the Cerdo Asado, a generous portion of grilled pork marinated to perfection. The smoky, slightly sweet notes of the marinade kissed every tender morsel, and the pork itself was cooked to juicy perfection. It was a carnivore's dream come true!
Of course, no Nicaraguan meal is complete without Gallo Pinto, the iconic rice and beans dish. We love this place! The food has always been very fresh and delicious! The service is outstanding! It's not Mexican food, so those expecting that may be disappointed or surprised. It's Nicaraguan and a lovely change of pace! Thank you!
